Your adventure awaits

Tailor-made tours

Every tour is tailor-made to each person or group. Once you contact us, we will start with a brief conversation of your hopes and dreams for the area, as well as any limitations or overall preferences. Want to do a lot of extreme hiking? Done. Want to do no hiking? Also done.

Your guide will be bringing a short-range scope (30x) with a tripod to try and make sure you see every bird even in the famously neck-craning canopy, but we strongly recommend you bring your own binoculars.

1/2 DAY SUMMER

Muskoka or Algonquin Hotspots

Join me as I take you to a few great birding locations in the Muskoka area around Huntsville and Bracebridge. We will meet just before sunrise and end in time for lunch. I will go with you in your vehicle or I can take you in mine ($50 surcharge, only for groups of 3 or fewer). Highlights could include the Bracebridge water treatment facility, Arrowhead Provincial Park, Weeduck Lake, and a secret location if it's hummingbird season. Alternatively, we spend a morning in Algonquin Provincial Park looking for some of the more elusive forest and river species. We will finish in time for lunch.

Estimated 6 hours. Prices do not include entry fees, starting rate of $350 for groups of 3 or fewer.

FULL DAY SUMMER

Muskoka & Algonquin Hotspots

The full day tour includes a morning in Algonquin Park and an afternoon around Huntsville and Bracebridge. I will join you in your car or you can come in mine ($75 surcharge, only available for groups of 3 or fewer). We will meet bright and early in Algonquin Park to look for boreal specialists and see some of the summer diversity, with a good chance of spotting a few mammals. We will stop for a picnic lunch (the park has a few options if you don't bring a lunch) and in the afternoon head out of the park to see some of the Muskoka highlights. These afternoon highlights could include the Bracebridge water treatment facility, Weeduck lake, or Arrowhead Park, and a secret location if it's hummingbird season. We will finish before dinner, with end time flexible depending on the birding.

Estimated 12 hours. Prices do not include entry fees, starting rate of $500 for groups of 3 or fewer.

1/2 DAY WINTER

Algonquin Winter Specials

Winter birding in Algonquin Park is not to be missed. We will meet at the West Gate just after sunrise  and be back early afternoon, with a lunch stop at the Algonquin Visitor's Centre (very basic food options, so pack snacks). Either I will join in your car or you can come in mine ($50 surcharge, only available for groups of three or fewer). Waiting for the morning chill to ease off a bit, we will go straight for some of the more reliable birding locations in the far east of the park arriving by 9am, checking to see what visits the feeders (usually active by mid-December). We will even stop at a few locations that are fairly reliable for American pine martens.

Estimated 6 hours. Prices do not include entry fees, starting rate of $350 for groups of 3 or fewer.
